A group called “One Million Moms” recently called for JCPenny to fire talk show host Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson because she is a lesbian. In an email to Reuters, a spokesperson rejected the call stating, "jcpenny stands behind its partnership with Ellen DeGeneres."

On today’s show with both wit and humor, Ellen addressed the hate groups call for her firing and commented on the values she stands for. "I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you'd want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values. That's what I stand for…I also believe in dance."

One Million Moms is a project of the American Family Association, a group designated as a hate group by the Montgomery Alabama-based civil rights organization, the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Last night Bill O’Reilly also stated on Fox, that despite the right to opinion and choice in where Americans want to take their business, the demand that JCPenney “fire a spokesperson who has done nothing legally wrong” was against the “spirit of America.” He stated, “this JCPenney thing is a witch hunt and it shouldn’t happen.”
