Thank you for sharing your personal experience to dispute an illogical definition of marriage. Often I have thought about the same logical disputes, for the same reasons you listed.

Biologically, there is no difference between an infertile, straight couple (due to health, age, or choice), and a same-sex couple.

The law limiting marriage to straight couples due to “accidental” children, if accurately applied, would eliminate child-less heterosexual couples, as you’ve stated. It’s obvious that the law has not been accurately applied. So, essentially, a subset of society has been breaking the law for decades without any legal consequences.

Meanwhile, almost all of the child-less couples and individuals have contributed to the financial, social, and educational welfare of society’s children for the benefit of our nation – a nation which has refused to strike down illogical laws preventing same-sex couples to marry.
