Neil Sherouse is a retired church musician and semi-retired architectural project manager living in Lakeland, Florida. A sixth-generation Floridian, he holds a Bachelor of Music from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and a Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Now living as what he describes as "an apostate Southern Baptist," he and his wife are active members of Lakeland's Beacon Hill Fellowship, a joint congregational witness of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the Presbyterian Churches USA. A frequent bass soloist, Neil performs regionally and overseas. His other interests include gardening, reading, writing, fly fishing and kayaking. Neil and his wife, Marsha, are the proud parents of LGBTQ scholar and activist Beth Sherouse.
